Introducing the Catalyst

  • by

The journey from a spark of an idea to a fully realized project can be daunting, but with the right support, resources, and community, anything is possible. We invite every member of the Grinnell College community to become a part of this exciting new venture to make our campus’s visions into realities.

What is the Wilson Center Catalyst?
The Wilson Center Catalyst offers dedicated open hours each week in the form of a creative thinktank. The Catalyst is designed to nurture, develop, and transform your innovative ideas into tangible projects or startups. Whether you wish to implement non-profit services into our community, follow artistic ventures, and more, the Catalyst is here to support those with ideas that can change our campus or even the world. Think of us as the aiders, abettors, and funders of any idea of yours that excites you outside of the classroom.

Why use the Catalyst?

  • Guidance & Mentorship: Benefit from the experience of our seasoned mentors, comprised of Grinnell alumni, experienced entrepreneurs, and industry professionals.
  • Resources & Tools: Access to workshops, seminars, tools, and facilities to kickstart your project.
  • Funding: Opportunities to apply for financial assistance for your project.
  • Collaborative Environment: Surround yourself with a community of like-minded innovators, fostering collaboration and interdisciplinary learning.
